Felt recently teamed up with Pretzel Films for their first charity Christmas cover and music video release. Somewhere Only We Know helped Saint Ronan's School to smash the fundraising goal, reaching Number 1 on the children's iTunes charts.
Eliana arrived in the world two months early, just before Christmas 2013. She was born with Spastic Displegia, a form of Cerebral Palsy that affects motor control of the lower limbs and causes visual impairment. Following two difficult years, Eliana’s mum discovered a procedure called ‘Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy’. Though the procedure offers the much-needed hope of correcting Eliana’s condition, it is only available in the US and at a huge price.
So Eliana’s mum and family started fundraising. As Eliana’s older sister is at Saint Ronan's, the school stepped in to help. At first they did a local sponsored walk but, with more money still to raise, another idea emerged… to record a song and make a music video featuring the Saint Ronan’s children. Keane's ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ had always been a favourite on trips to visit Eliana in hospital so it was the perfect choice. With the band’s blessing, the project was underway, headed up by production company Pretzel Films.
It wasn't long after the release before the video went viral, garnering the support of Davina McCall, Tom Daley, Zoella, Holly Willoughby and many more, taking the song to the top of the iTunes Children's chart where it stayed for two weeks. The fundraising campaign reached it's target in early December allowing Eliana to make her journey across to pond almost immediatly. The prodcedure was a huge success... Eliana was home and well for Christmas.
